Where the pattern is written
- Venus and Mars: what you are drawn to, and how you pursue it. Their signs and aspects describe the type, not the person.

Why knowing the type is not enough

An example of how it reads
Imagine Venus in the twelfth house, Neptune on the seventh-house cusp, and the south node in the seventh. The person falls for partners who are unavailable in some way: married, far away, drowning in their own troubles. Each time it feels like a great love, each time it ends with the person alone and exhausted. The chart says: the comfortable place is sacrifice, and the direction, with the north node in the first house, is a life of one's own first, a partner second. The report would describe the pattern, the lesson, and, from the transits, when the next messenger is likely to appear, so that the person can recognise the moment.
